DESCRIPTION:This spring America’s Car Museum will open its latest exhibit Exotics@ACM – Seductive Super Cars. Opening May 5\, Exotics@ACM will focus on the crème de la crème of exotic cars that embody the world’s best designs\, technology and performance. \nThe Exotics@ACM exhibit will frame the story around cars built in the last fifty years with an emphasis on those launched in the 21st Century. While encouraging a dialog with guests as to what cars “fit” in an exotic car exhibit\, the Museum will focus on brand\, design\, technology and performance to guide the exhibit’s visual imagery\, storytelling and vehicle selection. \nPrivate owners wishing to participate in the exhibit have an opportunity to nominate their cars for consideration by the ACM Curation staff. Ultimately\, twenty-five cars will be selected for the first rotation of the year-long exhibit. To keep the exhibit fresh\, subsequent rotations will occur throughout the lifespan of Exotics@ACM. \nIf your car is chosen for the exhibit you will receive a one-year ACM membership with benefits including admission to see your vehicle on display at the Museum. \nTo have your exotic car considered for display\, please send your name\, contact information with a short bio and current photographs to exhibits@americascarmuseum.org by March 15\, 2017. \nDon’t miss the chance to display your exotic in America’s Car Museum’s newest exhibit\, Exotics@ACM – Seductive Supercars\, opening in the popular Cheney Gallery this spring.

DESCRIPTION:Driving into the summer\, ACM will open an exhibit celebrating 1950s & 60’s convertibles in the Route 66 gallery. Displayed in the midst of the vintage petroliana and metal signs a gallery of eleven cars will have you imagining a great top-down road trip as you amble through the display. And if the exhibit inspires you to drive part of that trip on the old Route 66 there is information to help you plan the adventure. \nPrivate owners wishing to participate in the exhibit have an opportunity to nominate their cars for consideration by the ACM Curation staff. Ultimately\, eleven cars will be selected for the exhibit. To keep the exhibit fresh\, subsequent rotations will occur throughout the six-month lifespan of the exhibit. \nIf your car is chosen for the exhibit you will receive a one-year ACM membership with benefits including admission to see your vehicle on display at the Museum. \nTo have your convertible considered for display\, please send your name\, contact information with a short vehicle bio and current photographs to exhibits@americascarmuseum.org by March 1\, 2017. \nDon’t miss the chance to display your 50’s or 60’s convertible in America’s Car Museum’s exhibit\, Convertibles on Route 66 when it kicks off on April 21 during Drive The Blues Away.

Groups of 10 or more will also receive a discounted group tour rate to explore the Museum. \nTo take advantage of this celebration of Microcars\, please email RSVP@americascarmuseum.org or call 253.779.8490 to make your reservation. \nAbout the Shell Concept Car:\nShell collaborated with engine specialists Geo Technology and automotive experts Gordon Murray Design to design\, test and build an exceptionally energy-efficient concept city car that was affordable\, accessible and capable of reducing personal transport energy use in a material way using advanced technologies available today. \nThe Shell Concept Car made its USA debut at AAPEX/SEMA in Las Vegas\, November 1-4\, and is now embarking on a road show to demonstrate what can be achieved when Shell’s engine oil products are integrated right from the start into the design of a vehicle and engine. Shell specifically “˜designed’ an engine oil that complements and enhances the overall efficiency of the vehicle. It is a bespoke formulation\, based on its premium product\, Pennzoil Platinum\, with PurePlus Technology. In layman’s terms\, this is a prototype oil designed to be as efficient as possible. The choice of engine oil/lubricant is in keeping with the project philosophy of pushing current available technologies to their limits\, in the hunt for energy efficiency. For all other fluids supplied we have gone for best off-the-shelf product/formulations. \nThe project demonstrates Shell’s involvement and capability in the transport energy debate\, and showcases its co-engineering capability. The Shell Concept Car is intended to be a vehicle made for cities\, because that is where most of the driving around the world is done and where an estimated 80% of all transport-related CO2 emissions are produced.

Race Night at ACM starts at 5 pm; the Museum is open late until 8 pm.\nStill want to bring your collector car? Enjoy free parking on the Anderson Plaza and free admission to the Museum – for intended Cruise-In participants and their vintage vehicles only. \n*** \nCruise into ACM on the second Thursday of each month April through October\, rain or shine on ACM’s Haub Family Field! \nCruise-Ins at ACM are FREE\, family-friendly and no pre-registration is required! Enjoy music by DJ Fred\, BBQ by Gravediggers\, popcorn by Queen of Pop\, free coffee and cookies\, and enter to win a door prize and/or People’s Choice award! \nNo vintage vehicle? No problem! All are welcome to come check out the vehicles in attendance at Cruise-Ins at ACM. \nReserve space for your car club by calling the Annual Giving & Membership Manager at 253.683.3952. \nACM is open until 8 pm on Cruise-In nights\, so grab your friends and family for Race Night in the Speed Zone! Every second Thursday of the month from 5 – 8pm\, our CXC racing simulators are linked together to provide a realistic racing experience against other drivers.
