Help us build our next MAJOR exhibition!

Does Your ride Have What It Takes To Be in a Museum?
Not the most expensive. Not necessarily the rarest. The ones with local stories.
LeMay – America’s Car Museum is kicking off 2027 with Local Flavor, an all-new exhibition celebrating the people, vehicles, and stories that define the automotive culture of Tacoma, the South Sound, and the greater Pacific Northwest.
From family heirlooms and neighborhood legends to local racing history and unforgettable customs, Local Flavor will showcase the incredible automotive culture that lives right here in our communities.
We're inviting vehicle owners, enthusiasts, businesses, and community members from across the Pacific Northwest to share their stories and help us discover the vehicles that deserve a place in this one-of-a-kind exhibition.
Your ride could be part of Local Flavor!

What are we looking for?
Whether your vehicle has been in the family for generations, made its mark on a local racetrack, or simply became part of your community's identity, we want to hear about it!
Have something other than a vehicle you'd like to share?
We're also interested in hearing from local artists, photographers, historians, car clubs, and businesses with automotive stories, photographs, memorabilia, or other materials that could help bring

Frequently Asked Questions & Additional Information
Does my vehicle need to be rare, valuable, or in perfect condition?
Not at all! Local Flavor is about the stories behind the vehicles, not just their monetary value or condition. We're looking for vehicles with meaningful connections to Tacoma, the South Sound, the greater Pacific Northwest and the people who call it home.
Does submitting my vehicle guarantee it will be featured?
No. All submissions will be reviewed by the Museum's curatorial team. Due to limited exhibition space and anticipated community interest, not every vehicle can be selected. We will contact applicants whose submissions may be a fit.
What happens if my vehicle is selected?
A member of our Museum team will contact you to discuss the exhibition, potential loan arrangements, transportation considerations, and next steps. Submitting the form does not commit you to loaning your vehicle.
How long will Local Flavor be on display?
Local Flavor is scheduled to open in January 2027 and will replace our current top floor exhibition Birth of the American Supercar, and remain on display until May 2027.
Can I nominate someone else's vehicle?
Absolutely! We encourage you to share this opportunity with friends, family, neighbors, car clubs, and businesses. If the vehicle belongs to someone else, please encourage the owner or an authorized representative to complete the submission form as we need their personal contact information to reach out and coordinate a potential vehicle loan with them.
Can I submit photographs, artwork, or other automotive memorabilia?
Yes! We're interested in hearing about local automotive photographs and photographers, artists and artwork, racing memorabilia, historical materials, and other items that could help tell the story of Tacoma, South Sound, and greater Pacific Northwest car culture. All materials will be considered by the Museum's curatorial team and you will be contacted if we decide to move forward with your submission.
How will I know if my submission was received?
After submitting the online form, you'll receive an on-screen confirmation. Our Museum team will reach out directly if additional information is needed or your submission is being considered for inclusion. Completing the form does not guarantee placement in Local Flavor.
