SUMMER STEM INTENSIVE CAMP
Rising 5th - 8th graders are invited to explore science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at America's Car Museum. Campers will design, build, experiment and create during this fun-filled week of programming! Registration includes all necessary materials and a snack.
MONDAY, JULY 27 | Pinewood Derby Cars & An Introduction to Car Detailing
We'll start the week by designing, building, and racing pinewood derby cars. Campers will also get an introduction to car detailing in a hands-on workshop with the ACM Collection Team.
TUESDAY, JULY 28 | Collections Apprentice & Turbo Charged Crash-Test Cars
Today we'll take a deeper dive into car detailing as we work with the Collection Team to learn about the cars in the collection, and what it takes to keep them running and looking their best. After that, we’ll shift gears to explore automotive safety features and take on a turbocharged twist on the classic egg-drop challenge! Campers will put their physics knowledge to the test as they design ways to protect their “egg passenger” in a crash simulation.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 29 | Turbo Charged Crash-Test Cars (Cont.) & Field Rides
Ever wondered what it's like to ride in a car from the early 1900s? Well, today is your lucky day! In addition to wrapping up our Crash-Test Cars and taking them for a bumpy test drive, today we'll step into the past with rides in some of the Museum's iconic old school cars.
THURSDAY, JULY 30 | Hoods Up! Engine Workshop
Campers will get their hands dirty today and learn about vehicles and their engines as we tear down and rebuild small gasoline-powered engines!
FRIDAY, JULY 31 | Intro to Automotive Maintenance
Learning to drive a car is a really exciting time in any young person's life, but learning to take care of one is just as important! Today, we'll cover all the basics of automotive maintenance as we roll up our sleeves and learn how to check tire pressure, change a tire, check the oil, jump a battery, and more!
PLEASE ONLY REGISTER YOUR CHILD & ONE PER ORDER. REGISTRATION REQUIRES E-SIGNATURES FROM A PARENT/GUARDIAN
