There are many chapters to the story of the automobile. If cars could talk, they might just share stories we never imagined. Each month, our speaker will pick a car and offer a fascinating peek into its history. Join us the first Tuesday of each month, and explore the story of cars with Museum curators, staff, or local personalities over lunch.
Collection Manager Renee Crist and Collections Technician Dale Wickell will discuss how they prepared a 1957 Chevrolet Nomad, a 1961 Chrysler 300G and a 1966 Ford Mustang for The Drive Home – a 2,900 mile journey from Tacoma, WA to North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI in early 2016. They will discuss the upcoming Drive Home II: Heritage Run where the cars will trek across the country once again – this time from Boston, MA to Detroit, MI. Wickell and Executive Assistant to the CEO Valerie O’Shea will also share stories and video from the 13-day Drive Home journey.
Free, with Museum admission. Bring a lunch, or enjoy a meal from Classics by Pacific Grill.
