An American Legacy – Celebrating the Passion and Vision of Harold & Nancy LeMay

The story of our museum originates from the name on the building. Harold and Nancy LeMay amassed the world’s largest privately owned collection of automobiles, other vehicles, and related memorabilia in the world. At its peak, the LeMay collection numbered in excess of 3,000 vehicles and thousands of artifacts. In the late 1990s, the LeMay’s had the vision to donate a comprehensive part of their collection for public benefit as a not for profit, charitable museum organization to preserve and interpret the history and technology of the automobile and its influence upon American culture. Part of the LeMay collection became a cornerstone of the Museum’s 300+ rotating vehicles you see on display today.

In honor of our 10-year anniversary this year, we are proud to announce our newest exhibit now on display in our Showcase Gallery: An American Legacy – Celebrating the Passion and Vision of Harold & Nancy LeMay. This exhibit, which showcases the sheer diversity of the LeMay collection, is comprised of some of the original vehicles that were donated to help start the collection at ACM, as well as several that are on loan from the LeMay family exclusively for this exhibit.

This exhibit is dedicated to Harold and Nancy LeMay and their passion for the American automobile and spirit.
