1. GET KIDS OFF THE COUCH
“¦and into the driver’s seat as they join fellow young car enthusiasts for a fun-filled week exploring the science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) concepts used to design, build and race cars!
2. STE(A)M LEARNING THROUGH ENGAGING HANDS-ON EXPERIENCES
Using various types of materials, campers will engineer, tinker with, and construct automobile-inspired creations! Balloon-powered cars, pinewood derby cars, crash-test cars””these are just some of the awesome activities campers might participate in.
3. MAKE NEW FRIENDS
Campers will become part of a new group of peers and will foster relationships with other kids their age, allowing them to see the world through the eyes of others with differing viewpoints and experiences.
4. INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM WORK
Students work both independently and in groups to complete daily challenges””fueling friendly competition.
5. INFORMAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS
“¦inspire curiosity and imagination. Campers will spend the week surrounded by cars ranging from horseless carriages to modern day race cars. This non-traditional classroom provides a unique context for student learning.
6. CARS, CARS, AND MORE CARS!
Did I mention there are a ton of cool cars in the Museum? More than 300 cars can be seen at ACM on any given day. Students will have the chance to explore the galleries, engaging in discussions about car history, aesthetic design, automotive care and maintenance, and more!
7. VISIT AUTO PROFESSIONALS INCLUDING CAR DESIGNERS AND RACE CAR DRIVERS
Have you ever met a race car driver? After summer camp at ACM, campers will be able to answer “yes!” Campers will meet professionals in the automobile industry and will have the opportunity to ask questions, and listen to stories about on-and off-track experiences .
8. ACM’S SUMMER CAMPS ARE FUN!
Ultimately, the goal of the summer camps at ACM is to create a fun learning environment for all of our campers.
